CAP Debt Centre

Glasgow West Debt Centre offers individually tailored & completely free debt counselling support to residents living within the Glasgow West Area and Clydebank. We are part of a national charity called Christians Against Poverty (CAP); an award-winning debt-counselling charity which helps more than 13,000 individuals across the UK (every year) begin their journey out of debt through a combination of advice, financial education, budgeting and insolvency services.

We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone and that many more people are struggling financially due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  We are also acutely aware of the connection between financial health and the mental and physical well-being of individuals and families.

What we do:

In particular, we take time to really listen to our clients and will seek to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can discuss your concerns and feel valued. We have a proven reputation of guiding many different people through the process of going debt free; giving as much support as they require depending on their capabilities and circumstances. Our service is available to everyone regardless of religion, sexuality, gender, race or anything else.

How we are operating at present

Due to COVID – 19, we are currently (temporarily) replacing our face-to-face debt counselling service with telephone-based appointments. Our service is holistic and we give clients the time they need to work with us over the phone: therefore, in order to access our service, all clients will need is a phone and access to the internet, or be are able to get to a post box.

Once it is safe to do so, and following Government guidelines, we will look to resume our face-to-face home visiting service for clients.

It would be our privilege to work with you or your family to help them break free from the circumstances brought about by debt. Individuals must self-refer and can access our service by calling our freephone number to make an appointment. If you don’t feel able of confident enough to do this yourself then please ask someone to help you – we are happy to speak with you while someone else is there.

New Enquiries Line: 0800 328 0006 (Mon-Thurs 9.30am-5pm & Fri 9.30am-3.30pm).
